How does a wetsuit work?
A wetsuit works because there will be a small layer of water between you and the wetsuits which will heat up and keep you warm. That’s why having the right size and model for your body is extremely important. At Matos we always have a wide selection of wetsuits in stock, to have a perfect fit for everyone.
Which thickness should my wetstuit be?
The thickness of your wetsuit depends on when you want to use it. If you are looking for a wetsuit to use for the biggest part of the season, a 5/3 or 4/3 will be great. We also have a big selection of winter wetsuits and warm neoprene gloves, booties and hoods, for the real die hards that want to ride all year long. We also have summer wetsuits, shorties and sun protection for the warmer days.
What is the difference between the different wetsuits?
All our brands have different model wetsuits. In general you can say that the more expensive ones have higher quality material which makes them warmer, more flexible and better in keeping the water out. We have many different models, so there is a perfect fit for every one. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in the water, it is worth it to invest in a higher quality wetsuit. Another difference between wetsuits is in the isolation and sealing of the seams. At Matos we have a huge selection of back-zip and front-zip wetsuits.
Which size should I choose?
The size of your wetsuit is often similar to your size shirt. There are small differences between the sizing in the different brands, so it is always important to check the size chart. There is also a different between the different models within the same brand. Back zip wetsuits tend to have a bit bigger fit, whereas frontzip wetsuits are a bit smaller. If you are not sure which size you have, you van always pass by the shop in Brussels where the Matos team will help you find the prefect fit. Having the right size is as important as choosing the right model.
