SHIPPING AND RETURNS
1. Package Shipment
Shipping Times
Packages are generally shipped within 2 to 3 working days after receipt and validation of your payment.
Delivery Options
We offer you two delivery methods:
Option 1 - Home Delivery
For Belgium:
- Carrier: Bpost
- Tracking: Tracking number provided by email
- Indicative timeframe: 2 to 5 working days after shipment
- Rate: [to be specified according to weight/amount] - visible in your cart before validation
For International (outside Belgium):
- Carrier: DHL Express
- Tracking: Tracking number provided by email
- Indicative timeframe: 3 to 7 working days depending on destination
- Rate: [to be specified according to weight/destination] - visible in your cart before validation
Important: For deliveries outside Belgium, please contact us at info@matos.be before placing your order for confirmation of costs and timeframes.
Option 2 - Store Pickup (free)
- Location: Matos Surf and Kite Shop, 124C Chaussée de Ninove, 1080 Brussels
- Availability: 2 to 3 working days after validation of your payment
- You will receive a confirmation email when your order is ready to be picked up
- Pickup hours: [to be specified - e.g.: Monday to Saturday, 10am-6pm]
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs include:
- Preparation and packaging costs (fixed)
- Transport costs (variable according to total package weight and destination)
All shipping costs are communicated to you clearly and in detail in your cart BEFORE final validation of your order.
We recommend grouping all your items in one order to optimize shipping costs. We cannot combine two separately placed orders and shipping costs apply to each of them.
Packaging and Protection
Your package is prepared with care. Box dimensions are appropriate and your items are properly protected. Special attention is paid to fragile items.
Package Tracking
Regardless of the delivery method chosen, we send you an email with a link to track your package online as soon as it is shipped.
Package Receipt
The risk of loss or damage to products is transferred to you only when you (or a third party designated by you, other than the carrier) physically take possession of the package.
This means that if your package is damaged or lost during transport, it is our responsibility, not yours.
Upon receipt of your package:
- External condition check: We recommend checking the package condition in the presence of the delivery person if possible.
- In case of visible damage:
- Note your reservations on the carrier's delivery note (if possible)
- Take photos of the damaged package
- Contact us immediately at info@matos.be with photos and your order number
- Content verification: You have a reasonable time to open your package and check its contents.
- In case of anomaly: If you notice a problem (missing product, item not conforming to your order, defect), contact us at info@matos.be indicating:
- Your order number
- The nature of the problem
- Photos if relevant
Important: The fact that you did not make reservations upon delivery does not deprive you of your rights. You still benefit from the 2-year legal conformity guarantee (see Guarantee section in our T&C).
In Case of Non-Receipt of Your Package
If you do not receive your order within the indicated timeframes, contact our Customer Service at info@matos.be with your order number. We will immediately conduct a search with the carrier.
In case of confirmed package loss:
- We will carry out a new free shipment (if the product is available in stock)
- Or we will fully refund you within a maximum of 14 days No costs will be charged to you in this situation.
2. Right of Withdrawal and Returns
Your Right of Withdrawal (14 days)
In accordance with the Belgian Code of Economic Law, you have a right of withdrawal of 14 days for any purchase made online, without having to give a reason.
This right applies to all our products, including:
- Promotional products
- Sale products
- Clearance products
Deadlines
Step 1 - Notification of your withdrawal: You have 14 days from the day following receipt of your order to inform us of your withdrawal decision.
Step 2 - Product return: After notifying us of your decision, you have an additional 14 days to return the product to us.
How to Inform Us of Your Withdrawal?
You can notify us of your withdrawal decision in several ways:
- By email: info@matos.be (a clear message indicating that you wish to withdraw is sufficient)
- By mail: Matos Surf and Kite Shop SRL 124C Chaussée de Ninove 1080 Brussels Belgium
- Using our return form (optional): You can download our return form here, but its use is not mandatory. A simple email is sufficient.
In your message, please indicate:
- Your first and last name
- Your order number
- The product(s) concerned
- Your bank account number (IBAN) for the refund
For customers outside Belgium:
- IBAN + BIC/Swift
Product Return Conditions
You have the right to examine the product as you would in a physical store. You may therefore:
- Unpack the product
- Try it
- Handle it to check its characteristics and proper functioning
For the return to be accepted, the product must:
- Be in a condition allowing resale
- Be complete with all its accessories and instructions
We recommend (but this is not mandatory):
- Keeping the tags
- Returning the product in its original packaging
- Protecting the product well for return transport
Product depreciation: If the product shows signs of use beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and proper functioning (for example: product worn extensively, damaged), we may deduct compensation proportional to this depreciation from the amount to be refunded.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with the law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- Products made according to your specifications or clearly personalized
- Sealed products unsealed after delivery that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons (example: worn neoprene suits, worn boardshorts, opened technical underwear)
How to Return Your Product?

Important:
- Return costs are at your expense
- We recommend using a tracked shipment to secure your return
- Insufficiently stamped packages will not be accepted
- You bear the risk of return transport (we therefore advise you to package the product carefully)
Check the return address carefully: Matos cannot be held responsible for packages sent to the wrong address or lost due to insufficient postage.
Refund
Deadline: We will refund you within a maximum of 14 days from:
- The date we were informed of your withdrawal decision
- OR the date of receipt of the returned goods (whichever comes first)
Amount: We will refund you:
- The product price
- Initial shipping costs (at standard delivery rate; if you chose a more expensive delivery method, only the standard delivery cost will be refunded)
Refund method: By bank transfer to the account used for payment, or to the bank account (IBAN) you have provided us.
We will only proceed with the refund after:
- Receipt of the returned product
- OR receipt of proof of product shipment (whichever occurs first)
Examination of Returned Product
When we receive your returned product, we will check its condition.
If the product meets return conditions: Full refund within 14 days.
If the product shows abnormal depreciation: We will contact you to inform you and indicate the amount of deduction applied before refund.
If the product does not meet return conditions (for example: product clearly used beyond testing, product damaged by negligence): We will contact you to discuss the situation. Depending on the case, we may:
- Offer you a partial refund
- Return the product to you (return costs at your expense)
3. Exchanges
We do not perform direct exchanges.
If you want a different product:
- Exercise your right of withdrawal for the product you received (see above)
- Place a new order for the desired product
This allows you to benefit from all your legal rights and have better tracking.
4. Legal Conformity Guarantee (2 years)
Independently of your right of withdrawal, all our products benefit from the legal conformity guarantee for a period of 2 years from delivery.
This guarantee covers:
- Lack of conformity (the product does not correspond to the description)
- Manufacturing defects
- Malfunctions
In case of a problem with your product, contact us at info@matos.be indicating:
- Your order number
- The nature of the defect
- Photos if possible
We will inform you of the procedure to follow.
