Who we are?

Isa and Oli, both passionate about windsurfing, started sailing when they were respectively 15 and 12 years old. Both of them have a very good level, they meet while Oli is already working in the windsurf store of their friend Eddy Delhaye, owner of the MATOS store in Haine-Saint-Paul. Eddy proposed them to open a shop in Brussels and to manage it. They were 20 years old at the time.

They arrived in Brussels in 1987, and the first Matos shop opened on Chaussée de Ninove at number 155 in 1080 Brussels.
Premium distributors of the big windsurfing brands of the time, their time was divided between sales, management of the store and representation and testing events on the Belgian spots as well as on the Dutch and Northern French spots.
In the winter, Isa and Oli organized windsurfing trips that took them all over the world and especially to Margarita in Venezuela.

A few years later, the opportunity arose to set up shop further down the road in Ninove.
After 6 months of work, the Matos shop moved to 124c, chaussée de Ninove which is still the current address.

Windsurfers at the base, kitesurfing is a new challenge for Isa and Oli in which they throw themselves and invest 200%.
After an initiation and the first sensations, they believe in the durability of this new sport which will last and change their world.
Kitesurfing develops quickly and takes a big part of the market. Forerunner in this discipline, Matos Surf Shop quickly became the reference in the service, the advice and the distribution of equipment from the best brands.

Born in 1995, Alex, Isa and Oli's son, fell in the world of kitesurfing at a very young age and realized his dream of a career in the world of kitesurfing. He became a pro and became particularly famous in the discipline of wakestyle, which combines wakeboarding and kitesurfing. He travels the world for 5 years to participate or organize events and competitions.

Sup Paddle arrived on the market and opened a discipline that allows the practice for the greatest number of people without any age limit or sport capacities.
In addition, paddling can be practiced without wind on lakes, rivers or at sea.

The latest major discipline to appear in recent years, wingsurfing, is another challenge for Matos. Its practice is developing rapidly and has conquered a large market share. This sport is still in its infancy and has many years to go.
And finally, technological advances are bringing a motorized discipline to Matos through the distribution of E-Foils, the electric foils.
